Abstract of this study

Background of research

It is highly required to obtain novel scientific knowledge on hydrides; in order to accelerate research and development on “sustainable energy, and its conversion, storage and transport with high efficiency”, which are indispensible for the promotion of Green Innovation related to fuel cells, hydrogen related materials, rechargeable batteries, and superconductors.

Research objectives

By conducting basic research on hydrogen states in hydrides, we synthesize novel hydrides with superior properties for “hydrogen storage” and “ion conduction”, and furthermore, demonstrate the validity of these new hydrides as energy-devices.

Research characteristics (incl. originality and creativity)

There are a lot of undiscovered properties on hydrogen and hydrides. By applying “Hydrogen Diagram (Hydrogen Map)”, which I am firstly suggesting in the world, novel scientific knowledge on hydrides such as “high-density and safety hydrogen storage” and “fast-ion conduction” will be obtained.

Anticipated effects and future applications of research

With the progress of this study the followings will be expected; wide spread of fuel cell and environmentally friendly vehicles, technology innovation in next generation electric charging and transmitting systems, and reinforcement of competition on materials research and development in energy and environment related industries as well as creation of new seeds and employments, and so on.
